CST has recently supplied three sets of impellers for an Integrally Geared compressor to a primary repair and reconstruction Company.

Based on the information that is usually available to End Users (such as maintenance and operation manuals and data sheets), along with 3-D scans and direct measurements of the parts, CST has created the 3-D model and the manufacturing drawings. CST’s competencies and PMI analysis led to the choice of the raw materials suitable for the application.

CST also provided the manufacturing of the parts through its qualified supply chain, capable of delivering the forgings with the required characteristics, all the machining operations, including Hirth coupling in this case, non-destructive and overspeed testing.

A careful inspection plan and accurate procurement and manufacturing specifications resulted in a final quality of parts that is comparable to or even higher than the OEM’s.
