Compression Packages

Compression Packages are complete plants that are the heart of the process inside which they are installed.
More and more the compressors are assembled on a skid with all their ancillary equipment as in the past used to be only for the portable compression utilized upstream for natural gas application.
The Packagers have therefore to supply a self sufficient fully engineered product just to be positioned and connected on site to the rest of the plant.
The study of these packages must be therefore very deep and multidisciplinary in order to show in the field the expected reliability.

CST supports the Packagers for Proposals and Project execution in the following activities:

  • Package Design
  • Package construction
  • Package testing, erection, commissioning and start-up

 

Package Design

Package design supplied by CST is a multidisciplinary engineering activity which is suited on customer’s need and normally includes the following:

  • Compressor selection and optimization according to the end customer specifications
  • Complete Package design
  • Engineering of auxiliaries and Control Systems
  • Baseplate and foundation design
  • Lubrication system
  • Cooling system
  • Purging/buffering system
  • Piping system, vessels and supports, including the pressure pulsation analysis
  • Modal analysis
  • Torsional analysis
  • Performance Test specification and execution
  • Material take-off’s

Package Construction

The supply chain for the construction of complete compression packages is rather complex as it involves many global players such as gas engine manufacturers, gas air coolers, etc. CST, with its long standing international experience and business relations has the capability to support the Packager also for the construction of the package.
 

Package testing, erection, commissioning and start-up
The fact that the compression system is completely assembled in the Packager’s workshop make it advisable and feasible to full load test it before the shipment to the site. CST has the capability to assist the Packager for the performance test and for any real time corrective action be necessary
